With my background in improvised music many of these topics may seem familiar to someone with a jazz background. This however is not meant to be a “jazz only” site. The concepts laid out here are applicable to any form of music today. Some ideas will be borrowed from 20th and 21st century composers. Others may be borrowed from gospel, electronica, or hip-hop. All are intended to spur you on to creatively explore unfamiliar (or at least less often traveled) musical ground.
